PaderPuzzle

I am the organiser of a puzzle hunt called PaderPuzzle that takes place in the city of Paderborn. I create tricky puzzles and hide them at different points of interest in Paderborn like the cathedral, near the sources of the river Pader and at the Heinz-Nixdorf-MuseumsForum (biggest computer museum in the world!). The first PaderPuzzle took place on 20.09.2025 (Saturday) from 11:00 to 20:00. In total, 147 participants in 42 teams competed in the first edition.

In general, the event works like this: Teams start simultaneously at a common starting point where I hand out the first puzzle, and then make their way through the city from puzzle to puzzle by walking and using public transport. Entering the solution of a puzzle on my website reveals the location of the next puzzle. The puzzles are printed on paper and hidden at different locations in the city, so teams actually have to move through the city and find the puzzles. After the puzzle time is over, we meet in the city center and I hand out prizes to the three most successful teams. Through funding from Mensa Germany and Paderborn University, I can offer the event free of charge.

If you are interested in more details, you can visit the website paderpuzzle.mensa.de where you can also find all the puzzles from previous editions, including solutions. Note that the website only exists in German and most puzzles require knowledge of the German language.
